Mix UDK TGR Ts1. ZK5, GIZ DSTU B V.2.7‐126:2011
UDK TGR mix for bonding and reinforcing expanded polystyrene and mineral wool boards when insulating facades of buildings and structures.
Composition
Cement, mineral fillers, polymer modifiers, reinforcing microfibers.
Technical Specifications
Not less than 0.015 MPa to mineral wool
Application Process
Substrate Preparation
Carried out in accordance with DSTU‐N B A.3.1‐23:2013 and DSTU‐N B V.2.6‐212:2016. The substrate surface must be dry, solid, even, with low and uniform water absorption. Before applying the dry mix, the surface must be cleaned of dust, oil stains, and other substances that reduce adhesion. In winter, the surface must be free of ice and snow. Weak and highly absorbent surfaces must be pre-treated with primers appropriate for the intended use.
Mortar Preparation
Preparation of the mortar mix: pour water (water temperature from +15°C to +25°C) into a clean container at a rate of 0.22–0.27 L per 1 kg of dry mix (5.5–6.7 L per 25 kg), gradually add the dry mix and stir with a low-speed mixer until a homogeneous lump-free consistency is achieved. Allow the mortar mix to stand for approximately 5 minutes, then mix again.
Application
Depending on the size of surface irregularities, the method of fixing expanded polystyrene boards to the substrate is applied in accordance with DSTU B.V.26‐36:2008:
- in strips along the perimeter at a distance of 10 to 15 mm from the edge and in the center (irregularities up to 5 mm);
- continuously over the entire board surface using a notched trowel with a tooth size of 10×10 mm (irregularities up to 3 mm);
- in separate dabs, diameter 100 mm (irregularities up to 10 mm).
For mineral wool boards, only the continuous fixing method is used. After applying the mix, the board must be placed in the design position and pressed firmly. The width of joints between boards must not exceed 2 mm. Installation of the reinforced layer over the insulation begins after it has been secured with anchors. Before installing the waterproofing layer, a contact layer 1–2 mm thick must be applied over the entire surface of the secured mineral wool boards.
The waterproofing layer must not be installed earlier than 24 hours after applying the contact layer.
To do this, apply the mix with a notched trowel with 10×10 mm teeth onto the contact layer of the mineral wool boards or directly onto the polystyrene boards, embed the reinforcing mesh, and smooth out. The total thickness of the reinforcing layer must be 3–5 mm. Application of the decorative protective coating should begin no sooner than 3 days after installation of the waterproofing reinforced layer.
Recommendations
Use of the dry mix is recommended at temperatures between +5°C and +30°C and relative air humidity not exceeding 65%. Freshly applied mix must be protected from rapid drying, rain, and direct sunlight. Eye and skin protection must be worn during application. If the mix gets into eyes, immediately rinse with water and consult a doctor.
