Application
Universal Deep-Penetrating Primer “UDK Grund” R.UDK.1.P.ZK DSTU B V.2.7-233:2010
Deep-penetrating primer for exterior and interior use. For strengthening and equalizing substrate absorption before applying paint and varnish coatings and during construction work — plastering, installation of thermal insulation systems, filling, wallpapering, tile cladding, and floor installation.
Designed for priming all types of highly absorbent mineral substrates: cement and gypsum plasters, lightweight concrete, foam concrete, aerated concrete, brick, gypsum board, magnesite boards, as well as fiberboard, particleboard, and plywood. Reduces and equalizes substrate water absorption and strengthens it. Promotes increased adhesion of paint and varnish coatings, adhesives, fillers, and construction mortars.
Composition
Based on acrylic dispersions, preservative, additives, water. Limit value of VOC for this product (cat. A/h): 30 g/l. This product contains max 30 g/l VOC.
Application Process
Substrate Preparation
Substrate preparation is carried out in accordance with DSTU-N B V.2.6-212:2016 and DSTU-N B A.3.1-23:2013. The surface must be solid, dry, and undamaged. Before priming, remove dust, dirt, wax and grease stains, and unstable paint and varnish coatings. Areas affected by fungi must be cleaned and treated with an antiseptic solution according to the instructions.
Application
Stir thoroughly before use.
Apply the primer with a roller, brush, or paintbrush. Avoid excessive application of the primer to prevent the so-called wet “mirror” effect.
Dense surfaces, such as steam-cured concrete surfaces and structural reinforced concrete elements, should be primed in two coats without excessive application. For the first coat, dilute the primer with water in a 1:1 ratio. Apply the second coat undiluted, immediately after the first coat is absorbed, using the “wet on wet” method.
For treating dense, solid substrates such as concrete, cement filler, ceramic or silicate brick, asbestos-cement substrates, wood, dense paint and varnish coatings, particleboard, OSB, QSB, etc. — apply the primer in one coat without dilution.
For treating aerated concrete, foam concrete, cinder block, lime and cement plaster, gypsum surfaces, and old water-dispersible paint coatings that are securely adhered — apply the primer in two coats. For the first coat, dilute the primer with water in a ratio of 2 parts primer to 1 part water.
Coverage Rate
Coverage rate per coat: 100–200 ml/m², depending on the substrate texture. The exact coverage rate is determined by a test application on site.
Drying Time
Drying time per coat: 4 hours. All recommendations are effective at a substrate temperature of +20°C and relative air humidity of 60%. Under other conditions, drying and curing times may vary.
Application Temperature
Work should be carried out at a substrate temperature between +5°C and +35°C and a relative air humidity of up to 80%.
Storage
Store in a tightly sealed container in a cool place, at a temperature between +5°C and +35°C. Guaranteed shelf life in a hermetically sealed factory packaging: 24 months. See packaging for manufacturing date and batch number.
